Immediate opening for full and/or part time companion animal veterinarian for a growing but well established practice providing quality medicine to a large friendly client base. Internal medicine cases are a big part of our practice along with surgery cases. Applicants must be able to perform spays, neuters and basic surgery techniques. Additional surgical techniques can be learned as cases are presented and CE is attended. We have an in house lab (CBC, Chem profiles, Coag profiles, I-stat and more), ECG, tonopen, three anesthesia machines, five IV pumps, two dental machines, ultrasound, endoscope, electrocautery unit, 3 large exam rooms with more planned, large reception area with two waiting rooms equiped with client information TV and a large and well stocked pharmacy. Our staff are dedicated, experience and friendly; with a doctor to staff ratio of 2 1/2 staff per doctor. The practice is in a small town that is within a few minutes to several metropolitan areas. Referral centers nearby. New grads or experienced veterinarians welcomed. Mentoring is provided. 40 – 50 hours per week with competitive salary, benefits, vacation, and continuing education provided. We see a variety of cases from surgical to internal medicine. Applicants must be able to perform routine surgeries with the willingness to learn more advanced techniques as cases are presented and CE is provided. Orthopedic surgical skills are a plus but not required. Since internal medicine is a big part of our practice, applicants must be able to plan diagnostics, evaluate results, and develop a treatment plan. Applicant must be willing to use the “toys” as part of their diagnostic tools. Applicants are expected to attend one CE event annually and one evening CE class every other month (paid for by the practice). Applicant must be available for after hour “on call” 2 - 4 nights a week (depending on schedule) and provide care and treatment for minor after hour emergencies with major emergencies being referred to local after hour ER centers or Referral centers (see description in company profile).
